Have you ever opened your phone just to check one message, and suddenly, 30 minutes are gone? You scroll Instagram, watch a few Reels, maybe reply to some texts, and before you know it, you forget why you even picked up your phone. This happens to almost everyone today.We live in a world where everything is fast. Videos are getting shorter, news is summarized in one line, and people don’t have the patience to read a full article. Our brains are slowly getting used to quick dopamine hits—likes, comments, and notifications. But the problem is, this habit is destroying our ability to focus on important things.I have noticed this in my own life. Earlier, I could sit for hours reading a book without distraction. But now, if my phone is nearby, I get distracted easily. Even during studying, my mind sometimes craves a "small break," which turns into a long scroll session. And I know I am not alone. Many friends tell me they can’t even watch a full movie without checking their phone.The biggest issue is, we are losing the ability to do deep work—work that requires full concentration, like studying, reading, or even having deep conversations. Imagine trying to build a skill or work on a project, but your mind keeps looking for quick entertainment. This is why many people today struggle with learning new things or completing difficult tasks.So, what can we do? The first step is awareness. Start noticing when you pick up your phone unnecessarily. Try to keep your phone away when working or reading. Use apps that block distractions. Most importantly, practice focusing on one thing at a time. How Reading Books Changed My Perspective and How It Can Change Yours Too.

Three years ago, I decided to quit social media, tired of the endless distractions and negativity. Little did I know that this one decision would lead me to a new passion—reading. In 2021, I picked up my first Kindle book, Do It Today, and it set me on a journey of personal growth. I started with simple self-help books like Atomic Habits, and these books opened doors to new ways of thinking. They taught me practical skills, but more importantly, they shifted my mindset.

As I moved to deeper reads like Meditations and Man’s Search for Meaning, I discovered how books could completely change how I approach life. I began to focus more on positivity, develop better habits, and embrace challenges rather than avoid them. Each book gave me a broader perspective, helping me to see beyond my initial thoughts and fears.

If a person like me, who once disliked reading, can finish over 40 books in just a few years, so can you. You don’t need to start with difficult reads—just find something that piques your interest and let the journey begin.

Quiet Your Mind


These days, everywhere you look, people are sharing stories about success 18-year-olds starting million-dollar businesses, 30-year-olds getting rich from the stock market. It’s easy to get caught up in all of this and start questioning your own life. Thoughts like, “Am I doing enough?” or “Why am I not that successful yet?” can take over your mind, making it noisy and stressful.

What we often forget is that the content we consume on social media doesn’t show the full picture. It creates a false reality where it feels like everyone is doing better than us. But here’s the truth: Everyone, even those “successful” people, are dealing with the same mental noise. Even the teenager who just launched a business is probably comparing himself to someone running a billion-dollar company.

The biggest reason for this mental noise is comparison. Instead of focusing on what we can do with our own lives, we start looking at what others have. We waste time worrying about someone else’s journey instead of focusing on our own.

How Do We Escape This?

The answer is simple: Make your own goals your meditation. Instead of getting distracted by what others are doing, remind yourself why you started your journey in the first place. What goals did you set for yourself? Why are they important to you? The more you focus on your own goals, the less time you spend worrying about others.

And here’s a secret: The more you practice focusing on yourself, the more you realize that everyone is on a unique journey. No two journeys are the same, so there’s really nothing to compare. Once you stop comparing yourself to others and focus on your own progress, the mental noise starts to fade away.

Easy Ways to Quiet Your Mind

Cut Down the Noise: Be mindful of what content you consume. If something makes you feel bad about yourself, maybe it’s time to stop watching or following it. Choose things that inspire and motivate you, not things that make you doubt yourself.

Celebrate Small Wins: Don’t wait for huge achievements to feel good. Celebrate every small step forward. These small wins remind you that progress is progress, no matter how slow.

Focus on Your Why: Anytime you start feeling overwhelmed by what others are doing, bring yourself back to why you started. What is your goal? Why is it important to you? Keep that front and center, and the noise will start to fade.

Trust Your Journey: Everyone’s timeline is different. Just because someone else is doing something big doesn’t mean you’re behind. Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be, and that your journey will unfold in its own time.

Final Thoughts

The mental noise we experience from comparing ourselves to others doesn’t serve us. The more we focus on our own path, the quieter our mind becomes. Remember, everyone is on a different journey. Once you start focusing on yours, that mental noise will slowly disappear, and you’ll feel more at peace.

My Journey with Books: How It All Started.


Hi there! Today is Book Lovers Day, and I thought it would be the perfect time to share my journey with reading. I started reading in 2021, right after I decided to quit Instagram. I had a lot of spare time on my hands and wasn’t sure what to do with it. That’s when I decided to subscribe to Kindle for 3 months and give reading a try.

At first, I picked books based on their titles—the more exciting the title, the more I wanted to read it! My main goal back then was just to read as many books as I could. It was a fun and exciting time, and I was really enjoying myself.

After I passed my 12th class, I bought my first physical book. It was called "YOU CAN" by Mathew. Holding a real book in my hands felt different, and it made me even more excited about reading. I started following some YouTube channels about books and joined the Goodreads community, where I found so many great book recommendations. Because of these recommendations, I came across amazing books like "Atomic Habits," "Rich Dad Poor Dad," "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck," "The Alchemist," and "Attitude is Everything." These books really made a positive impact on my life and changed the way I think.

In the past 8-9 months, I’ve challenged myself to read deeper and more complex books. I’ve been reading "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and "Weldan" by Harry. These books are tough to get through, but they’re pushing me to think in new ways and broaden my perspective.

Today, as I reflect on my journey and the lessons learned, I realize that the path to personal growth is a continuous process. I struggled with overthinking and seeking validation from others for a long time. I was caught in a cycle of disappointment when my expectations didn’t align with reality. But through these experiences, I’ve discovered a powerful lesson: true progress comes from within.

I used to believe that motivation was the key to achieving my goals. However, I’ve learned that while motivation can spark the beginning of change, it is a discipline that sustains it. Discipline is about creating habits that support long-term success, even when motivation wanes.

One of the most impactful strategies I've adopted is breaking goals into manageable steps and focusing on the process rather than the end result. Following the principles from “Atomic Habits,” I’ve committed to making small, consistent changes in my daily routine. This approach has helped me stay grounded and make steady progress without overwhelming myself.

Today is also Guru Purnima, a time to honor the guidance and wisdom of mentors. It feels like the perfect moment to renew my commitment to personal growth. As I prepare for this new chapter, I focus on setting clear intentions and embracing the journey with patience and curiosity.

My journey is far from perfect, and there are still challenges to overcome. But by embracing discipline and enjoying the process, I am learning to navigate these challenges with a positive mindset. It’s about finding joy in the small victories and continuing to move forward, step by step.

Finding Freedom: Stop Caring About What Others Think.


Hey everyone, Ayush here. I used to worry a lot about what people thought of me. It made me anxious and unhappy, and I felt like I couldn’t be myself. But over time, I learned how to stop being emotionally dependent on others and to stop caring so much about their opinions. Here’s how I did it, and I hope it can help you too.

First, I realized that I needed to believe in myself. For a long time, I relied on others to make me feel good. I waited for compliments and approval, but it never made me truly happy. So, I started to focus on my own strengths and achievements. I reminded myself daily that I am capable and worthy, just as I am.

Next, I began to do what makes me happy. I used to avoid doing things I loved because I worried about being judged. But when I started following my passions without thinking about others, I felt a new kind of joy and freedom. Whether it was reading a book, playing a sport, or just relaxing, I did it because it made me happy, not because it would impress someone else.

Keeping myself busy with hobbies and activities also helped a lot. When I was engaged in things I enjoyed, I didn’t have time to think about what others might be saying or thinking about me. I focused on learning new skills and having fun, which kept my mind occupied in a positive way.

Choosing the right friends was another big step. I made sure to surround myself with people who supported and understood me. Friends who truly care about you won’t judge you; they’ll encourage you to be your best self. Spending time with such friends made me feel valued and accepted.

Lastly, I started to talk to myself positively. I know it sounds simple, but it made a huge difference. Whenever I felt doubt creeping in, I told myself that I am good enough and that I don’t need anyone else’s approval to feel worthy. Positive self-talk became a powerful tool for me to combat negative thoughts.

By making these changes, I stopped worrying about my surroundings. Now, I feel free to do whatever I want, and it’s an amazing feeling. If you’re struggling with emotional dependency and caring too much about what others think, I hope my experience can inspire you to make a change. Believe in yourself, do what makes you happy, stay busy, choose good friends, and always talk to yourself positively. You deserve to live your life freely and happily.

Respect Yourself: The Key to Getting Things Done

 

When your dad asks you to do something, you do it. You do it when your boss or friend tells you to finish a task in two days. But when you tell yourself you’ll start a YouTube channel or go to the gym tomorrow, that day comes and goes, and you don’t do it. This happens because you don’t respect yourself enough to keep your promises.

I was like this before too. I would say I’d do something tomorrow, but then I wouldn’t. One day, I decided to stop this habit of putting things off.

We all set goals for a reason. Think about a goal you set two years ago. Did you achieve it? Probably not, because you weren’t consistent. We all procrastinate sometimes.

Life is short. It goes by quickly. After the coronavirus, time has flown by. If you’re in your 20s now, you’ll be in your 30s before you know it. When you look back, you’ll regret the time you wasted.

Be consistent in whatever you do. Whether you want to be a doctor or do bodybuilding, stick with it. If you don’t, someone else will. Time doesn’t wait for anyone.

Don’t chase motivation. Be disciplined. That’s all you need to do.

The choice is yours: One day or Day one.
